JEEP TOUR IN TUSHETI

The most remote of Georgian regions, placed in it's far northeast corner, Tusheti is available only by 4WD cars 4 months a year.
Today it's becoming more and more popular due to it's picturesque hiking nd horse-riding routes, pristine nature, centuries-old towers and history, most of which still has to be discovered.

Early departure from Tbilisi;
After passing Gombori pass and Kakheti villages we will cross one of the most picturesque and difficult roads in Georgia - Abano pass. We will stop for a snack at the highest point of Abano pass (2960m above sea level).
After we will visit Shenako and Diklo villages, taste traditional tushi cheese and take hike to the Diklo fortress (6km, 2-3 hours). According to legend, once 16 brave warriors defended it against the thousands of North Caucasians.
Night in Omalo.

Moving to Dartlo village, 2000 metres above sea level.
This place is distinguished by it's special architecture with dry masonry and stone-slated roods. Residents of Dartlo have kept old traditions and still honor the faith of their pagan ancestors.
We will take a horse ride to beautifull Oreti lakes or Kvavlo village.
After in Gometsari valley we will visit Docha village, famous for its threy-storeyed towers and Bochorna - the highest constantly inhabbitated place in Europe.
Night in Omalo.

In the morning we will visit the Keselo castle in the Lower Omalo , enjoys the views and watch bezoar goats and birds of prey.
Etnographic museum in the fortress keeps very interesting exhibits on Tusheti.
After we return back to Tbilisi through Abano pass.
